Job Summary


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Events & Volunteer Coordinator is a key relationship builder for Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward-Hastings. The Event and Volunteer Coordinator's role is to liaise with staff, volunteers, and local partners to organize and execute all events for Habitat PEH. These tasks will include Habitat PEH's annual fundraising signature events, along with any events established with other organizations. They manage the daily details for events such as scheduling meetings, establishing budgets, acquiring materials, training volunteers, and communicating with vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning and Management:



Develop and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, local partner organizations, and dignitaries Recruit and manage volunteers as needed for fundraising events Execute expenditures upon CEO's approval per event budget Plan and coordinate Habitat PEH events and arrange necessary staff and volunteers Liaise with vendors to ensure clear expectations for event set up Supervise, coordinate, and provide direction in accordance with staff and volunteers during events Add event attendees and donor information into DonorPerfect

Communications:



Create marketing and communications plan for each event Utilize diverse advertising mediums strategically for successful donor engagement Represent Habitat PEH at public events, and serve as the primary contact for event registrations Keep SharePoint files up to date during event creation and execution Create post-mortem notes and data organization from past events to grow from learning opportunities Understands and consistently demonstrates HFHPEH's standards and code of conduct Performs other duties as required
Job Qualifications

Education



2 or 3 year college diploma in public relations, event coordination, or similar field of study an asset

Experience



2 years demonstrated experience in event and project coordination Familiar utilizing Canva and various social media content platforms

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



Strong people skills with focus on a collaborative work style. Excellent analytical, organizational, administrative, and time management skills resulting in your ability to meet deadlines with quality results. Create and maintain professional working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents with an ability to manage the occasional conflict with finesse. Knowledge and experience in a not-for-profit environment or related, considered an asset Ability to multi-task and set priorities with a high-level attention to detail and a sense of urgency to achieve goals. Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite of Products. Clear written and oral communication skills, and effective relationship management with staff and volunteers. Clear criminal record check. Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

Schedule



Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. 37.5 hours per week commitment. Occasional evening or weekend work required.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
