Lucky Bastard Distillers is a craft distillery located in Saskatoon, SK. Our passion is manufacturing and selling the finest Lucky Bastard brand vodka, gin, whisky, rum and liqueurs. We opened our doors in May of 2012 and have been growing rapidly ever since, including the addition of our retail location in Saskatoon YXE International Airport in December of 2018 and our new Tasting Bar at The Gather Local Market in May 2024. We are looking to grow our team with the addition of an Event Room/Bartender Supervisorto assist our Event Manager. Our Event Room Staff are often the first faces people see when entering the distillery - from providing samples and a smile to visitors of our Retail area, to guided tours of our distillery, or expertly shaking-up a premium cocktail from behind the bar!

JOB SUMMARY
An Event Room/Bartender Supervisor collaborates with the Event Manager, together they review upcoming events and ensure all details are aligned. They establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and communicate with caterers to efficiently manage food delivery and service. During Events, they are responsible for the organization and presentation of the event room and kitchen area, oversee the layout, cleanliness, and supplies. An Event Room/Bartender Supervisor manages the event room staff, mentoring and training, and supervision. They understand cost control, monitor and adjust inventory and staffing levels to ensure sufficient resources without overstocking or overstaffing. Finally, an Event Room/Bartender Supervisor handles logistics and time management through thoughtful coordination of deliveries, cleaning, event room set-up/take-down, and service schedules to ensure smooth operations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be available to work Tuesday through Saturday as required
Must be able to work afternoon, evening and weekends shifts
Must be available for a variety of shifts: 10:00 AM-6:00 PM; 3:00-11:00 PM; 6:00 PM-2:00 AM; may include Sunday or Monday if needed* Must be able to work overtime as required
Takes drink orders, operates cash register, and enters debit purchases
Opens and closes Event Room and registers
Clears glassware and dishes from tables, operates the dishwasher, and polishes glassware
Cleans and ensures the Event Room is always presentable
Moves furniture and ensures the Event Room is set up/taken down properly
Provides tours of the distillery/facilities to our Guests
Responds to management and customer inquiries, and other general requests in an appropriate and timely fashion
Assists with staging the Event Room and preparation/clean up of events
Drives to pick-up and/or deliver supplies and/or products for events
Able to recognize and communicate shared responsibilities with Event Staff
Prepares and serves high quality cocktails in our Event Room
Mentors, trains and supervises Event Room Staff
Supports and undertakes duties as directed by the Event Manager
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 19+ years of age
Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2-3 years bar or restaurant experience is Required
Previous experience in catering or banquet service is an Asset
Previous bar or restaurant manager experience is an Asset
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION
High School Diploma is Required
Valid Drivers License is Required
Vaid Serve It Right Certificate is Required
Valid Food Safe Certificate is an Asset
Valid First Aid/AED Certification is an Asset
General knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs is an Asset
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to perform extensive standing, regularly; required to walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; reach with hands and arms.
Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, arms, and/or fingers.
Required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
Vision required for this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, exposure to limited or bright lights, and the ability to adjust focus.
May be asked to operate stereo equipment, set up projector, or use power tools; work at heights using ladders and scaffolding; and drive a motor vehicle.
Regularly required to drive to pick-up from vendors and deliver product and materials upon request; to transport and stock supplies or products.
Must be able to understand and communicate to others in both written and verbal English
Ability to work behind bar, in close proximity to others regularly; work in small or enclosed areas, exposed to loud or noisy work conditions.
Must be able to withstand regular temperature fluctuations to fingers and hands from exposure to ice, water, and food.
Unless driving or working at an on-site event, work will be indoor and environmentally controlled conditions.
Must be able to drive distances within city limits, regularly; may include travel within Saskatchewan and Alberta; or over-night travel may also be required.
The position is required to work a variety of shifts in a 24-hour/seven-day schedule and may include gaps in coverage and overtime.
Overtime applies to this position and will be calculated at a rate prescribed in the Employment Standards Act. Any time-off in lieu of overtime, must be pre-approved by the CBO.
Schedule intensity will vary during the summer and busy-seasonal times, as operational demands require.
