Position Summary:
The Event Planner will play a key role in organizing and executing community events, programs, and outdoor activities that align with Ummah Society's mission. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with volunteers, community members, and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute indoor and outdoor events, including workshops, fundraisers, community gatherings, religious celebrations, and recreational trips.
Organize and manage community trips, outdoor excursions, and camping or recreational activities, ensuring participant safety and engagement.
Develop and manage event and trip budgets, schedules, and timelines, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to organizational policies.
Source, negotiate, and manage vendors, suppliers, and contractors to secure venues, transportation, catering, and other necessary services.
Coordinate event and trip promotion through social media, email, and community outreach.
Provide on-site support during events and trips, ensuring smooth operations, safety, and a welcoming environment for participants.
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community members to ensure all events meet program goals.
Maintain records of past events, trips, vendors, and contacts for future planning.
Prepare post-event and post-trip evaluations to assess success and identify improvements for future activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Recreation, Communications, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience in event planning, project coordination, outdoor activity planning, or community engagement.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and community members.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and event management tools.
Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.
