Department Overview

As a member of the Canadian Event Marketing Team, the successful candidate will require a solid understanding and expertise in all areas of in person/virtual event marketing and management with a focus in internal process and event execution.

This position will report directly to the Head of Canadian Events and will provide meaningful direction of project management, creative and execution within sponsorship integration, business building, internal events both nationally and locally across Canada.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five to seven years of marketing experience at agency or client side with a focus in event marketing preferred.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Must be nimble and both proactive and reactive in addressing needs.
  • Superior execution and project management abilities.
  • Strong written, oral, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem solving, negotiation and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrates success in simultaneously bringing multiple projects through to successful completion.
  • Strong creative evaluation and innovative thinking skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and inspire others.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with a multi-disciplinary group.
  • Solid understanding of local/community-based marketing and sponsorship.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and keep key players informed.
  • Digital marketing experience is an asset.
Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:
  • Post-Secondary education required.
  • Event Marketing and Marketing Communications preferred.
  • Fluent in French is an asset

The successful candidate will:
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of high-profile (virtual and in-person) internal and external events for multiple lines of business at TD.
  • Manage and lead vendor and stakeholder relationships as required and deal with individuals at all levels of the organization, holding them accountable
  • Identifying all project dependencies and risks, ensuring they are effectively managed and ensuring mitigation/contingency plans are in place for identified risks
  • Will be responsible for developing expert knowledge of practices and procedures within business area (Marketing) of responsibility and keeps abreast of emerging trends for own business/functional area
  • Ensure marketing solutions/initiatives are strategically sound and consistent with TD\'s customer experience and brand standards.
  • Ability to leverage customer insights to develop creative strategy briefs that support the business objectives.
  • Manage projects within an agreed upon budget, timelines and approvals and develop, track and execute assigned projects following established processes.
  • Provide professional expertise in the design, development and execution of various internal/external events; and experience-based marketing programs for Marketing or additional lines of business across multiple functional areas or at the enterprise level
  • Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders
  • Provide a high level of service by evaluating the effectiveness of programs and making recommendations for improvement where appropriate.
  • Build and manage positive working relationships with all internal and external business partners (i.e. Agencies, Planning, Regional Offices, Legal, etc.) to ensure execution of project deliverables.
  • Actively participate on cross-functional teams and provide seamless hand-offs/delivery internally.
  • Possess strong presentation skills to sell in creative/event concepts to various levels of stakeholders.
  • Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and multiple agency partners.
  • Being able to execute multiple tasks and campaigns simultaneously.
  • Travel (across Canada) is required for this position
