Available Position: Evening Shift Foreman

MacKay's Truck & Trailer Center is seeking an experienced

Evening Shift Foreman

to lead our service team in

Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

. This role is ideal for a licensed Red Seal Truck & Transport Technician with proven supervisory experience, strong technical knowledge, and a passion for coaching others in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

MacKay's is a family-owned business with over 40 years of experience operating full-line Truck, Trailer & Compact Equipment dealerships, with locations in Truro and Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and Moncton, New Brunswick.

About the Role:

The Evening Shift Foreman plays a key leadership role in ensuring our evening operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Working hands-on alongside your team, you'll provide technical guidance, assign work orders, monitor productivity, and support quality control - all while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. This is a permanent, full-time position (3pm-12am, Monday to Friday) in an hourly-paid shop.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of Red Seal and Apprentice Technicians during the evening shift Coordinate repair assignments based on workload and technician skillsets Provide technical support, mentorship, and training to team members Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer standards Oversee quality control, documentation accuracy, and workflow tracking Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and the Shop Manager to support scheduling and customer commitments Maintain shop organization, enforce safety standards, and promote a clean, respectful work environment Support continuous improvement by identifying process or efficiency opportunities

What We're Looking For:

Red Seal Truck & Transport Technician certification Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in truck & trailer service, with leadership or foreman experience preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team in a busy shop environment Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills Commitment to safe work practices and high-quality service A valid driver's license with a clean abstract
