We are looking for our next team member to captain our evening food and liquor service at the Bean + Co!
The Evening Bar Manager is first-in-command and reports directly to the ownership team. This individual is passionate about a variety of cocktails and beverages, has incredible customer service and is knowledgeable about managing a restaurant and/or bar.
The Evening Manager will take on various tasks and responsibilities in order to optimizing the general work environment, such as training employees, ordering products, and creating an exceptional and memorable customer experience.
This individual will share an enthusiasm for great product and equally great service, ultimately leading and encouraging all the staff to be a part of a team that recognizes hard work. We love to reward our staff for their dedication and excellence!
Job Type & Compensation:
Part-time with opportunity to transition into Full-time
Thursday - Saturday evenings (mandatory*) Admin hours as needed
$22-$25/hour + tips (based on experience*)

Job Responsibilities:
Manage all evening operations.
Ensure excellent guest service that meets or exceeds expectations.
Communicate clearly and positively with team members and guests.
Enjoy working on the floor, maintaining professional behavior while creating a warm, fun, friendly, and hospitable atmosphere to encourage returning customers.
Lead by example in carrying out all evening duties.
Create and maintain a procedure manual for front of house team.
Interview, hire and train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
Manage and motivate staff according to policies and procedures of Bean and Co; establishing a positive and fair work culture.
Schedule for all evening hour staff.
Ensure all staff is qualified for their positions and abide by laws and regulations set out by the Liquor Distribution Branch of British Columbia and the District of Squamish.
Retail inventory management of stock and retail area.
Understand proper use of equipment including coffee machines, ice machines, refrigeration, freezers, dishwashers, ventilation, small appliances, and draft systems.
Follow up on guest complaints and ensure appropriate internal follow up, including implementing training resolutions and effective performance management where applicable.
Manage the correct appearance of each service, including set-up and tidy up at the beginning and end of each service.
Set-up/Tear Down of service area.
Supervise location cleanliness and organization.
Setting up the cash float for the day, completing the end-of-day reconciliation i.e., accounting for and organizing receipts, counting, and depositing cash at end of day.
Assist in event execution and management of staffing including on-site events and tastings.
Maintain high standards of customer service, quality control, hygiene, health and safety and fun!
Program POS system with necessary menu items, discount, and promotional codes.
Manage ordering of products such as but not limited to liquor, wine, guest taps, glassware, etc.
Responsible for financial (invoices, cash outs, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties, to be completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Be an amazing team player, help where it is needed and uphold the core values of Bean and Co.
Participate and manage staff to ensure Serving It Right procedures are being followed.

Serving It Right Certificate
Experience working in a similar role an asset
Experience managing and leading a team
Strong attention to detail
Strong conflict management and resolution skills.
This role requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. To bend, lift, and carry objects weighing approximately 50+ pounds
