Who We Are?

ONxpress Transportation Partners (ONxpress) were chosen by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario (IO) to enter the Development Phase of the On-Corridor Works project - the largest project in Metrolinx\'s GO Rail Expansion program. Unprecedented in its scale and complexity, this multi-billion-dollar capital program will transform the GO regional rail network with electrification, more frequent service, shorter journey times and a more modernized system for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Region.

What\'s the Opportunity?

As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the ONxpress Construction Joint Venture (CJV) Estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to one of Canada\'s most substantial projects, utilizing your expertise in construction estimating.

What You\'ll Do:

  • Collaborate with the Estimating team to assess and estimate project costs for various scopes of work, including civil, structures, track, and stations.
  • Review drawings and tender documents to understand project requirements and scope.
  • Utilize design models and integrated digital delivery (IDD) software for accurate project scope evaluation and quantity generation.
  • Develop detailed bills of quantities (BOQ) using advanced techniques, including tools like Bluebeam.
  • Contribute to the establishment of material price lists, labor costs, equipment requirements, and assist in obtaining competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Research historical data, including purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis, and benchmarking, to compile summary reports and support estimating guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate and comprehensive estimates aligned with project objectives.
What You\'ll Bring to the Team:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
  • Educational background with a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and cost control techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.), and experience with Adobe, Visio, and Bluebeam is a plus.
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills for handling time-sensitive situations.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and excellence.
