We have an exciting opportunity for a specialized esthetician to join the Team a Mountain Oasis Spa & Tanning. The position will be at our core location in downtown Canmore and potentially at a satellite location in a luxury resort in Canmore.

Position Summary:

The Esthetician specializing in facials, body wraps, and relaxation massage plays a vital role in promoting client wellness, confidence, and relaxation within a spa or wellness center environment. This professional delivers a range of esthetic and therapeutic services, focusing on comprehensive skin care, body treatments, and soothing massage techniques. The Esthetician employs expert knowledge, keen attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to create customized client experiences that rejuvenate, heal, and nurture.

Key Responsibilities:

Facial Treatments

Conduct detailed skin analysis to recommend appropriate facial treatments tailored to individual client needs.

Perform a range of facial services including cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, masking, hydration, and massage.

Utilize advanced techniques such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and LED therapy as permitted by certification and spa offerings.

Advise clients on proper at-home skin care routines and recommend suitable products for various skin types and concerns.

Monitor and track skin improvements over time, updating treatment plans as necessary.

Body Wraps and Body Treatments

Administer body wraps using products such as clay, seaweed, mud, or herbal blends to detoxify, hydrate, and nourish the skin.

Perform dry brushing, exfoliating scrubs, and application of essential oils to prepare the body for treatment.

Wrap clients securely and monitor their comfort and safety throughout the treatment.

Educate clients about the benefits of various body wraps and post-treatment care for optimal results.

Maintain a tranquil and hygienic treatment environment to enhance the client's relaxation and satisfaction.

Relaxation Massage

Deliver professional relaxation massages using Swedish massage and related techniques to reduce stress, improve circulation, and foster overall well-being.

Customize massage sessions based on client needs, preferences, and any relevant health conditions.

Create a calming atmosphere through thoughtful use of music, lighting, and aromatherapy.

Offer guidance on post-massage care and suggest follow-up treatments for continued relaxation and health benefits.

Client Consultation and Education

Conduct thorough client consultations to assess skin concerns, allergies, preferences, and desired outcomes.

Explain treatment procedures, expected benefits, and potential side effects in an accessible and reassuring manner.

Build lasting relationships with clients, maintaining detailed records of services provided and progress achieved.

Promote spa services and retail products in line with client needs and spa objectives.

Sanitation and Compliance

Adhere strictly to all sanitation, sterilization, and infection control protocols before, during, and after each treatment.

Ensure that all tools, equipment, and treatment areas meet or exceed regulatory and spa cleanliness standards.

Maintain valid state/provincial licensure and certifications as required for esthetic and massage services.

Comply with all spa policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and professional codes of ethics.

Team Collaboration and Professional Development

Work collaboratively with other spa professionals to provide seamless and holistic client care.

Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry trends, products, and best practices.

Contribute to a positive, supportive, and inclusive team environment.

Qualifications and Skills

Completion of an accredited esthetics or cosmetology program with a specialization in facial and body treatments.

Certification or demonstrated experience in massage techniques, specifically Swedish and relaxation modalities.

Strong knowledge of skin biology, anatomy, and contraindications for various treatments.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an empathetic, client-focused approach.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of professional ethics.

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual treatments.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
