We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English As A Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our educational team. The schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 am to 12 noon. The ideal candidate will have experience in tutoring and classroom settings, focusing on educating non-native English speakers. This role involves creating an engaging learning environment that fosters language acquisition and cultural understanding among students of various ages.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students learning English as a second language.
Conduct classes in a supportive and interactive manner, encouraging student participation and collaboration.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
Create a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, inclusivity, and cultural awareness.
Utilize various teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Collaborate with other educators and staff to support students' overall development and integration into the school community.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress reports.
Qualifications
Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably in an ESL setting or with children.
Strong understanding of language acquisition theories and effective teaching strategies for non-native speakers.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively.
Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
A degree in Education, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; relevant certifications in ESL teaching are a plus.
OCELT is a plus.
Familiarity with technology-enhanced teaching tools is advantageous.
