Responsibilities

Various types of equipment are effectively and safely operated - utilizing machine specific controls to complete all necessary tasks related to excavation and grading This includes operating near other equipment and people in often high traffic construction zones Operates in confined, fast-paced working environments, and exercises extreme caution with awareness of buried utilities and structures Interprets verbal and non-verbal communication (including hand signals) from operators, ground personnel and Labourers, and acts accordingly Performs basic mechanical inspections and servicing including controls and operations, completing logbooks, performs maintenance and adjustments, ensures good housekeeping of all equipment, and machine lubrication Recognize existing and potential hazards and know how to identify these through conducting a field level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards and assessing any tasks before starting Ensuring that work is safely completed by the set deadlines and on schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 4+ years' heavy equipment operating in a busy, high-traffic construction environment Must be fully competent and experienced with operating all of the following: - Loader, Zoom Boom, Skid Steer, Rubber Tire Backhoe and Mini Hoe Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and meet deadlines Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean 3-year driver's abstract CSTS-2020 Fundamentals and WHMIS 2015 certifications (training provided)

Work Conditions

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (evenings and weekends free) Work in all weather conditions year-round and willing to lend a hand where needed Comprehensive benefits package provided by CLAC, including extended health, dental, and prescription drug coverage Candidates must reside in the Greater Edmonton Region
