Job Description

James R. Eales Equipment Rentals Limited is a well established snow clearing and excavation contractor, operating in St. John's Metro Area. The Heavy Equipment Operator is a safety-minded worker that has construction and snow clearing industry experience and access to reliable transportation. The schedules are subject to variations depending on the project needs and delays. The ideal candidates are self starters willing to follow directions closely. The Heavy Equipment Operator can operate different types of machinery as: excavator, loader, backhoe, etc. (non-exhaustive list)

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Inspects equipment to ensure it is in safe operable condition and any servicing has been completed Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept cleaned, and stored in a safe manner Properly reports any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures Proactively communicate with supervisor and coworkers Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. Must have a valid licence (Class 5 and 8 requirement, Class 3 an asset) and clean driver's abstract. Must have a working cell phone 24/7 Must have reliable vehicle readily available to commute from home to work Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays to meet our client expectations. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions including, but not limited to snow, slush, ice, freezing rain, hail, and sub-zero temperatures. 2 years of heavy equipment experience
