The Opportunity

Haliscape Construction is expanding and looking for a reliable

Equipment Operator

to support our growing residential construction and landscaping projects. This role offers steady, year-round work operating excavators, loaders, and skid steers for excavation, grading, and material movement.

Although equipment operation is the main responsibility, our operators also assist with hands-on labour tasks such as site prep, cleanup, and material handling when needed. We value team members who aren't afraid to step in and help wherever required.

Main Responsibilities

Safely operate excavators and loaders for digging, trenching, grading, and backfilling Interpret site layouts, grades, and markings to complete work accurately Load, move, and place soil, aggregates, and other materials efficiently Conduct daily machine checks and report maintenance issues promptly Work alongside the crew to keep projects on time and on budget Contribute to manual labour activities, including shoveling, raking, lifting, and debris removal Assist with snow clearing operations during winter months

What We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years' experience with heavy equipment (excavator and/or loader) Strong awareness of safety protocols and job site best practices Ability to switch between machine operation and physical labour tasks Mechanical aptitude for small repairs and preventative checks Valid Class 5 driver's licence and dependable transportation (sites not accessible by transit) Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions Dependable, safety-focused, and team-oriented work ethic

Nice-to-Have Skills

Skid steer operating experience (especially foot-controlled) First Aid or other relevant certifications Experience with drainage installation, finish grading, or hardscaping
