Job Overview
As an entry-level Machinery Maintenance Technician, you will be trained to perform scheduled preventive maintenance on a variety of heavy machinery, including shredders (CBI 6400, CBI 6800, Haas Tyron 2000XL, Terex Finlay 883) and excavators (CAT 316F, John Deere 245G, Komatsu PC200LC-8, John Deere 210G, Sany SY215). This role focuses on routine inspections and maintenance tasks in both field and workshop settings to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime, with no repair work involved.
Responsibilities
Learn and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on heavy machinery, including shredders (CBI 6400, CBI 6800, Haas Tyron 2000XL, Terex Finlay 883) and excavators (CAT 316F, John Deere 245G, Komatsu PC200LC-8, John Deere 210G, Sany SY215), under guidance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to equipment failure, with support from experienced technicians.
Lubricate, clean, and adjust machinery components according to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules.
Check and maintain fluid levels, filters, belts, hoses, and other critical components as part of preventive maintenance.
Use diagnostic tools to monitor equipment performance, with training provided on tool usage.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including schedules and parts used, with guidance from supervisors.
Collaborate with team members to prioritize maintenance schedules and support operational efficiency.
Adhere strictly to safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines during all maintenance activities.
Learn to provide guidance to equipment operators on proper usage to support preventive maintenance efforts.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with industry standards and company policies.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in Heavy Equipment Maintenance, Diesel Mechanics, or related field is a plus but not required.
No prior experience required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.
Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems is an asset but not mandatory.
Willingness to learn and use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and maintenance schedules with training support.
Valid driver's license (Class 5 required; Class 1 or 3 preferred).
Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various conditions (e.g., mud, snow, or confined spaces).
Strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and a proactive attitude.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
