Role description:
We are currently looking for an energetic Environmental Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team and you will report to a Project Manager. We offer upward mobility as staff develop experience, skills, and desire to seek a planned and mentored career path within Arcadis. Travel is expected with this role along with some office related tasks. Working from home for some tasks can be accommodated with prior approval. The Environmental Technologist role will require an individual to execute project tasks, such as: focus every task on health and safety; attend project meetings; collaborate with team members; coordinate field programs; lead tailgate and site safety meetings; manage subcontractors; conduct site visits; generate quality field notes; conduct environmental sampling programs; supervising drilling, test pitting and/or remediation activities; submission of samples to laboratories; track then tabulate field and laboratory data; safe handling, calibration and operation of field equipment; and, generate technical environmental reports.
Hazardous materials testing and abatement experience would be a benefit, not a requirement.
Direct experience with the use and comparison of municipal bylaws; provincial contaminated sites guidelines, protocols, and act; Atlantic RBCA for Impacted Sites Version 4; federal environmental guidelines, and acts; along with industry best practices is a benefit.
