Job Description


Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator, you will be part of the Environment Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle\xe2\x80\x99s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

\xc2\xb7 Identify non-compliances and execute continuous improvement initiatives;

\xc2\xb7 Carryout tasks required to maintain compliance with environmental regulations, including compliance inspections, compliance sampling (water/air/soil), environmental monitoring and worker education;

\xc2\xb7 Maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment;

\xc2\xb7 Compile and record environmental monitoring data for regulatory reporting requirements in environmental monitoring software such as Equis and Intelex;

\xc2\xb7 Collect field data in remote locations in diverse environmental conditions;

\xc2\xb7 Complete wildlife surveys;

\xc2\xb7 Complete shipping and analysis request;

\xc2\xb7 Complete spill follow up in the field;

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all field equipment is safe and in working order (boat, motor, snowmobile);

\xc2\xb7 Conduct Tool Box Meetings;

\xc2\xb7 Work safely, effectively, independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 Degree in an Environmental Field;

\xc2\xb7 Some environmental field experience, preferably in mining operations;

\xc2\xb7 Experience handling Snowmobile, ATVs, Boats and traveling in helicopter;

\xc2\xb7 Possess a Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License and Pleasure Craft Operator;

\xc2\xb7 Experience working in a multicultural environment;

\xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work in adverse weather conditions;

\xc2\xb7 Ability to lift 50lbs;

\xc2\xb7 Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Note that the official working language at Hope Bay is English.

Your Work Schedule:

\xc2\xb7 Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest;

\xc2\xb7 Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights out of Edmonton or Yellowknife to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
