Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is a 60/40 joint venture partnership between Equinox Gold and Orion Mine Finance Group formed for the purpose of the joint ownership and development of the Greenstone Gold Property including the Greenstone Mine located on a historical mine site in the Geraldton-Beardmore Greenstone belt in Ontario. The Greenstone Mine is managed directly by a dynamic and experienced Owner\xe2\x80\x99s team, with an estimated $1.5 Billion investment over the three-year construction and commissioning phase, and a 14-year operating life of mine.

Greenstone Mine is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our Team. Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, the Environmental Technician will be responsible for executing several activities, including regulatory monitoring for air, water, and soil quality as per environmental permits and environmental assessment commitments. The position requires a broad base of scientific knowledge, technical skills, and environmental monitoring experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Perform tasks set out in the Environmental Monitoring Plan such as sampling, inspections of work sites to identify potential impacts and investigate environmental incidents.
• Ensure monitoring data is collected and reported in a timely fashion.
• Follow field procedures and receive training on collecting samples and monitoring data outlined by environmental permits, regulations, and systems in accordance with sampling protocols.
• Provide input on environmental programs and practices to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
• Provide direction and training for contractors.
• Compile and review data to identify trends and maintain site compliance.
• Lead by example and establish a safety culture through participation in daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings.
• Perform ongoing inspections and risk assessments to identify and address unsafe conditions or hazards in the workplace.
• Participate in the development of GMM\xe2\x80\x99s Environmental Management System and conduct internal audits.
• Liaise with the construction team to advise and provide guidance ensuring the execution of earthworks is in full compliance with permits, management plans and regulations.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

• Diploma or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science, Civil engineering or Environmental Engineering, or related equivalent.
• Five (2+) years of relevant work experience.
• Mining or Heavy Industrial experience is preferred.
• Experience with environmental data management software (Monitor Pro/Stake Tracker) and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practices.
• Valid Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License.

LOCATION

• This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.
