Reporting to the Manager, Aquatic Sciences, the Environmental Technician is responsible for supporting aquatic effects monitoring and scientific investigative field programs, that include water quality, benthic invertebrate, and fish sampling. This role involves working with our mining operations, consulting teams, and other groups in the sustainable development team. This role also offers a combination of field and office work, allowing diversity in your everyday tasks. This is a 12-month contract position with the possibility of an extension.
To be successful, we are looking for someone who is highly organized and who thrives in a fast-paced team environment. They must have strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with a capacity for practical problem solving. Most importantly we require someone who has strong communication skills, who can communicate effectively with environment teams at operations, with contractors and with consulting teams to complete work efficiently and safely. The position requires a broad scientific interest, technical skills, and support for project management.
