2 CURRENT OPPORTUNITY



We are seeking a highly organized and motivated

Environmental Technician

to join our team. This is a field-based role, working outdoors at various sites throughout Vancouver Island, with occasional travel to remote project locations across British Columbia. When you're not working in the field, your primary location will be our

Nanaimo office

.

Ideal Candidate:



Minimum 1 year experience in construction or technical fieldwork Excited to develop and hone field-based skills over several years Comfortable working outdoors in urban, rural, and remote settings, including inclement weather Holds a degree, diploma, or certification demonstrating technical aptitude Skilled with hand tools and equipment for field measurements Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong spatial awareness; able to create accurate maps, plans, and diagrams by hand Reliable, punctual, and committed to meeting deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat/Foxit Reliable vehicle and valid BC driver's license Able to assist with administrative and office duties as needed Able to support our data management team

Responsibilities

will include, but may not be limited to:

Collect and handle soil, sediment, vapour, groundwater, and surface water samples Conduct environmental monitoring and site inspections Record data and observations accurately and legibly Prepare and coordinate subcontractors and equipment for field programs File and manage field notes, including data entry Liaise with clients, regulators, and contractors Prepare technical reports summarizing environmental assessments and monitoring activities (as required) Assist in preparing applications for regulatory approvals, permits, and licenses (as required) Provide assistance with cost estimates and proposals (as required) Support office and administrative duties and data management team Assisting with office and administrative duties and providing support to our data management team.
This position and responsibilities will evolve over time, based on the employee's skills, performance and other career objectives.

3 COMPENSATION & BENEFITS



This will be

permanent full-time

hourly position, with a

two-week paid annual vacation

to start. We anticipate a beginning wage of

$23 to $35 per hour,

dependent on skills and experience. Typical full time is 40 hours per week, equating to

$54,000 to $75,000 annual salary

.
