Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Manager to join our team! In this role you will provide expertise and technical assistance to a team managing ongoing operations at unique northern abandoned mines. This position is site based and requires a 3 week on, 3 week off rotation. What You\'ll Be Doing:
  • Leads the activities for all Environmental Management and Geotechnical requirements for the site. Responsible for managing environmental compliance activities at the Site for remediation, construction and care and maintenance activities on Site.
  • Work constructively to ensure a collaborative and cooperative team approach with knowledgeable and timely input and contribution. Supports the objectives and responsibilities of all other management and leadership staff.
  • Manages environmental staff to implement and carry out work that helps the project and organization achieve its desired outcomes by providing Basic supervision; Technical direction; Motivation; Career progression; Performance feedback.
  • Provides training, oversight and guidance to the operations team and construction team, subcontractors and visitors with respect to Environmental requirements and compliance.
  • Determining, planning for and prioritizing the Work of the Environmental Team;
  • Ensuring that the necessary resources are identified, made available and brought to bear in a timely manner;
  • Managing within the work within budget so as to ensure maximum value for expenditures;
  • Monitoring performance;
  • Ensuring that superintendent receives all the information and support it needs to provide any necessary direction to the various sub-contractors.
  • This management position is expected to achieve Mine Rescue Certification, if physically able, and to maintain the certification
What Required Skills You\'ll Bring:
  • 10 years or more of demonstrated work experience in managing a team responsible for environmental management and compliance on an industrial or mine site;
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or higher in an environmental discipline;
  • Demonstrated experience working in the Yukon regulatory environment;
  • Experience in managing water balance;
  • Up to date Mine Rescue Team Certification;
  • Demonstrated experience in working on strictly regulated environmental programs; and
  • More than 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience conducing Environmental Management and Compliance work on remote sites.
  • At least 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 cumulative demonstrated work experience in managing a team responsible for environmental management and compliance on industrial sites or mine sites; and
  • At least one (1) project or one (1) year cumulative demonstrated experience in the last 10 years prior to the closing date of the solicitation demonstrating the resource\xe2\x80\x99s experience in water monitoring, regulatory reporting on environmental management, analyzing and interpreting monitoring results from a variety of media for exceedances and trends and providing recommendations on environmental management issues associated with industrial or mine sites
