Job Summary:
Manchester Tank / Ditech Tank Holding Company Ltd is seeking a motivated EHS Coordinator to lead and enhance environmental, health, and safety initiatives across our propane tank refurbishment and transportation operations. Based in Scoudouc, NB, this is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, promoting environmental sustainability, and fostering operational excellence.
The EHS Coordinator will support EHS programs at facilities in Scoudouc, NB, Lethbridge, AB, and Ditech Transportation. The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to implement effective EHS strategies. This role collaborates closely with frontline staff and senior leadership to embed proactive, principle-based EHS practices throughout the organization.
Health and Safety Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific and corporate-aligned EHS policies and procedures.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Collaborate with WorkSafeNB and WCB Alberta; maintain knowledge of NFPA, ANSI, and Canadian standards.
Develop and deliver safety training programs tailored to different team levels and learning styles.
Track and analyze EHS metrics (KPIs, leading/lagging indicators) to drive continuous improvement.
Maintain and update Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Hazard Control documents.
Environmental Compliance
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, air quality, water discharge, and hazardous materials handling.
Develop and implement Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and sustainability initiatives.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage permits, reporting, and audits.
Monitor environmental performance and develop strategies for improvement.
Leadership and Culture
Champion a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.
Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on EHS matters.
Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives in health, safety, and environmental practices.
Mentor and support the EHS team and safety committee.
Collaborate with operational leaders to integrate EHS priorities into decision-making.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all HS/EHS policies, procedures, and training records.
Prepare and submit required regulatory reports on time.
Communicate EHS performance and improvements to internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct frequent internal audits of the EHS program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5+ years in an HS/EHS role within a manufacturing environment, including 3+ years in a managerial capacity.
Strong knowledge of Canadian EHS laws and regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to develop and implement successful safety and environmental programs.
Health and safety certification (CRSP, CSP, CIH) or environmental management certification preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HS/EHS management software (Cority, Jira, iAuditor).
English proficiency required; French is an asset.
Working Conditions:
Role involves work in both office and manufacturing floor environments.
Based in Scoudouc, NB with occasional travel to other facilities or regulatory bodies. Valid Canadian passport required.
