\xe2\x80\x8bPosition Title: Enterprise Application ArchitectPosition Type: Regular - Full-Time \xe2\x80\x8bPosition Location: Florenceville MainRequisition ID: 29801\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8bJOB PURPOSE:We are looking for a business savvy technical leader, someone who will work closely with the business partners and portfolio leads to conduct a business and technical fitness review of an application. The Enterprise Application Architect will examine the business, operational and technical health of an application to determine how well it supports the current and future mission, business process and technical requirements.The Enterprise Application Architect is accountable for proactively and holistically lead and/or support Enterprise Architecture activities that create deliverables that guide the direction and development for technological responses to disruptive forces, and driving targeted business outcomes. Technologies may include data center, infrastructure, cloud, mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.The Enterprise Application Architect leads evaluation, design and analysis for the implementation of a solution architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies, based on enterprise business strategies, business capabilities, value streams, business requirements and enterprise standards.You will collaborate with our business leaders and partners, act as a trusted advisor, and lead technical transformations and implementations for our dynamic business, which covers our extended value chain from Agriculture through manufacturing, logistics and commercial, including retail / FMCG.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with EA peers (e.g., enterprise, business, data, and solutions architects) to analyze enterprise business context (business strategy and trends), as well as change requirements in other enterprise architecture viewpoints (such as business, information and solution) to derive the technology architecture future state. This includes defining the requirements, principles and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise.
  • Collect and assess information for application and products, and determine the rating for business fitness, quality and cost profile indicators.
  • Collect and assess information for technical stacks and platforms, and determine the rating for technical fitness and risk indicators.
  • Combine and analyze business and technical fitness to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvement. Use the results to explain in simple terms the risks and opportunities in the current portfolio during discussions about the application strategy, roadmap and prioritization.
  • Conduct a fitness or state of health rating for the application and provide input to identify and prioritize actions for improving the application portfolio.
  • Drive portfolio simplification to decommission redundancies, reduce maintenance costs and improve system reliability.
  • Must understand existing enterprise technologies and their standard applications, as well as the application of new technologies as needed.
  • Responsible for establishing a clear path to Application Modernization and cloud migration approaches.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives, and document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Help capturing the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the solutions/technological platforms being developed or adopted.
  • Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
  • Define high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state, typically in sync with the IT budgeting or other capital planning processes.
  • Coach, mentor and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and EA peers to develop technology architecture that enables and drives new business capabilities and operating models.
  • Assist with designing the governance, assurance and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance.
  • Understand, advocate, and augment the business and IT strategies - and, more specifically, EA development and service delivery. Be prepared to "sell" the EA process (overall, not just for enterprise technology architecture), its outcome and ongoing results, and to lead the communication or marketing activities needed to ensure enterprise success and use.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Be an excellent communicator and collaborator, engaging with multiple technical and business stakeholders and leaders.
  • Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps).
  • Rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Cloud: PaaS, IaaS, cloud architecture.
  • Application Portfolio Management (APM): Hands on experience implementing APM with one or more leading EA tool would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of the SAP emerging technologies such as S4/HANA would be an asset.
KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:
  • Fifteen or more years of experience designing and leading creative architecture solutions
  • Experience in multiple architecture domains (business, information, technology, application, infrastructure, security) and are proficient in generating technical roadmaps and architectures to lead architecture concepts
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture tools, processes and procedures
  • A proven ability to interpret and communicate IT related information and concepts into business language for senior level stakeholders
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

  • Architecture experience in Agriculture and food manufacturing is an asset
  • A certification in enterprise architecture such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
  • A professional certification as an architect with an industry-recognized organization

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
