Responsibilities:
As an English Reading instructor at Reindeer Education, you will play a crucial role in shaping students' language skills and cultivating a lifelong appreciation for reading. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Curriculum Development: Designing and implementing age-appropriate reading curricula that align with educational standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
2. Interactive Lessons: Conducting interactive and dynamic reading sessions that encourage active participation, critical thinking, and open discussions among students.
3. Literary Exploration: Introducing students to a wide range of literary genres, authors, and texts, fostering their curiosity and expanding their literary horizons.
4. Vocabulary Enhancement: Helping students build a strong vocabulary through contextual learning, word analysis, and vocabulary-building exercises.
5. Reading Comprehension: Developing strategies to improve students' reading comprehension skills, including inference, summarization, and analysis of complex texts.
6. Assessment and Progress Tracking: Designing assessments to evaluate students' reading abilities, tracking their progress, and providing timely feedback to students and parents.
7. Promoting a Reading Culture: Organizing and participating in events, reading challenges, and book clubs to create an engaging and supportive reading environment within the school community.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (Master's preferred).
-Proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written.
-Strong passion for literature and reading.
-Previous teaching or tutoring experience, particularly in English reading instruction.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.50-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
