Cenovus Energy is currently recruiting an Engineering Student to join the Lloydminster Thermal & Conventional Heavy Oil (LTCHO) Measurement team for the Fall academic term. This student would provide support for the LTCHO Measurement team as we ensure that Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99 Measurement Standards and Procedures are followed and in compliance with Alberta and Saskatchewan Ministry of Energy and Resources (MER) regulatory requirements for the overall measurement portfolio in LTCHO. Through this work you will be exposed to industry regulatory requirements and will interact with colleagues from various areas of the business with a wide variety of backgrounds. A person who has an enthusiasm to learn, engage with others, and promote systematic and efficient methods of problem-solving is best suited to do this job.

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with Cenovus\xe2\x80\x99 and business unit policies and procedures along with Alberta and Saskatchewan regulatory measurement requirements by:
Assisting the LTCHO Measurement team in Measurement audits and reviews of various measurement related documentation for Thermal and Conventional Heavy Oil field facilities.
Supporting the validation of Field Data Capture (FDC) data such as fuel, flare, and vent volumes.
Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Production Accounting, Process Data Information Management & Measurement (PIMM), and Operations Technology teams to ensure accurate reporting.
Supporting identification and resolution of metering differences, plant balances and proration concerns.
Based on measurement tasks and workloads, there may be opportunities to support additional measurement functions as well.
Qualifications
Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
Available to begin work in September 2023
Education
Enrolled in an Engineering Undergraduate Program (all disciplines will be considered) at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term
Attached copies of transcripts
Currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered
Skills / Competencies
Experience working with various software tools (e.g. MS Excel, SAP, Adobe) is considered an assist
Basic understanding of measurement and/or the oil and gas industry

Working Conditions
May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.
A drivers abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, with a valid Canadian class 5 Driver\'s License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role.
Relocation
Students moving for their work term may be eligible to receive a lump sum payment to assist with relocation expenses.
Note: Candidates must have their own means of transportation as there is no public transportation in field locations.
