Job Description


Summary: Engineering Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting with development and managing schedules for projects, mainly in the fields of construction and engineering. Assist project managers with schedule planning, coordinate task, and monitor the timelines of scheduled assignments. Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate and manage project documentation, internal files, project binders.
  • Establish/practice standard project reporting procedures to client and management (i.e., develop and issue minutes, agendas, project plans, etc.)
  • Act as liaison between departmental members within the project team to support timely communication, progression of project deliverables, and resolution to issues.
  • Administration and management of deliverables associated to cost/spend against schedules.
  • Ensure that Purchase Orders (POs) are processed to align within the monthly Engineering budgets.
  • Generate reports to support the understanding of outstanding and forecasted expenditures.
  • Facilitate set-up of vendors for engineering and manage contractor\xe2\x80\x99s files.
  • Support additional projects as required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: College Diploma in relevant technical field of practice required (i.e., cost management as it relates to technical engineering) Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or science (B.Sc.) an asset.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the pharmaceutical industry or contract manufacturing industry. Previous experience in engineering and/or operations day-to-day activities such as, but not limited to: addressing execution to plan and vendor communications to obtain quotes and information. Technical exposure to equipment capabilities and understanding of technological advancements. Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP applications. Managing and controlling data spreadsheets. Initial/beginner understanding of project planning. Data analysis along with cost differentiation exposure is beneficial. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Well organized, enthusiastic and detail oriented. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent team player. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Experienced in a pharmaceutical environment is an asset. Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) is critical and relevant. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, along with ability to manage tasks/workflow through use of applicable software. Proficiency in the English Language. Work collaboratively with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance with quality SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion. Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient-focused at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engaging in problem-solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shift priorities and new working methods. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines in a proactive manner. Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field. Physical Requirements: Light physical effort and fatigue. Walking, sitting, or standing for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation, including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for a limited duration. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Use of Personal Protective equipment may be required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, and respirator occasionally.
