The opportunity
CBC/Radio-Canada operates one of the world\xe2\x80\x99s leading technology infrastructures and one of the largest private networks, which distributes its content and services exclusively across the country. CBC/Radio-Canada is looking for a hands-on, detail design oriented Engineering Project Lead to join our Engineering team, to both lead and take part in projects focused on deploying technology.
This is a full time permanent position, and the successful incumbent would be based in Toronto or Montreal, working primarily on local projects, with eventual and occasional travel to various other sites nationally.
Please note that this position is in hybrid working mode.

As our new Engineering Project Lead you will:
Create concept designs for review with our business partners.
Design in detail, innovative, practical solutions to complex problems.
Regularly meet with stakeholders to determine requirements and solutions.
Create and track the schedules and budgets; monitoring progress.
Prepare schematic, layout drawings and installation instructions.
Oversee the procurement from writing proposals to evaluating tender responses.
Responsible for the implementation phase.
Verify system performance and ensure that identified deficiencies are rectified
Prepare documentation for ongoing operation and maintenance of facilities.
Qualifications
Hands-on detailed design and implementation of operations facing production workflows and content distribution systems for radio, television and digital platforms as it relates to broadcasting will be considered as an asset
Practical experience with SMPTE ST2110 standards, NRCS system, Camera Chain, Post Audio/Video editing tools, live graphics system including AR and VR
Knowledge of integration and deployment of technologies across an organization, including web, virtualization, storage, security and networking principles
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Applied Science or Engineering, or a Diploma In Applied Science and Technology
Experience in Project Management is preferred, specifically with the Agile approach
Membership, or eligibility to become a member, of the provincial Engineering Association (PEO, OIQ, \xe2\x80\xa6 etc) is an asset
Strong and influential verbal and written communication skills in English and French considered a strong asset
Strong analytical skills, with an innate ability to think through complex issues and design innovative solutions, as well as digging further into issues, removing roadblocks and presenting solutions for immediate and long term
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with peers, partners, clients, management, and external vendors, in addition to being able to effectively translate technical requirements to non technical business needs
Ability to work efficiently on a number of projects at different stages with multiple priorities, never losing sight of the details
Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies quickly, all while staying up to date with industry best practices
Ability to travel to different CBC locations to oversee different phases of projects
