Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a dynamic and talented Bridge Engineer-in-Training to join their team! The ideal candidate will possess experience in the design and construction of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other transportation-related structures specifically on projects in partnership with MTO (Ministry of Transportation) and municipalities. You will also have experience in undertaking bridge inspections, investigations, and assessment report preparation. Moreover, you will be someone who flourishes in a fast-paced and challenging environment with an equally supportive team striving together towards project excellence.

Most of the Things You\'ll Work On:

  • Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs of bridges, culverts, and other transportation-related structures.
  • Preparation of contract documents for a variety of transportation-related projects involving transportation structures.
  • Liaise with contractors and owners during design and construction.
  • Review progress of CAD drawings; Undertaking of Life Cycle Cost analyses and construction cost estimates.
  • Conduct inspections of existing bridges, culverts and retaining walls and prepare reports.
  • Quality Control/Quality Assurance; and other responsibility as may be assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum Two (2) years of design experience for new bridges and bridge rehabilitations for various bridge types and materials.
  • In process of gaining Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng)
  • Must have previous experience with the Ministry of Transportation, and other Ontario Municipalities - standards, procedures and practices.
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD, Microstation, Midas Civil, Bluebeam - knowledge in structural analysis softwares for the evaluation and analysis of all types of bridges:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proven ability to prepare high quality reports and proposals.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, MTO Structural Manual, MTO Structure Rehabilitation Manual, and other MTO guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and to provide direction to other members of a Project Team.
  • Experience in bridge rehabilitation techniques and methodologies.
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver\'s license.
