The Engineering & Quality Specialist is responsible for supporting engineering activities, managing preventative maintenance programs, ensuring compliance with company quality procedures, and maintaining certifications such as ISO 9001. This role will coordinate technical documentation updates, conduct internal audits, and play a vital role in ensuring the continuous improvement of work processes and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, create and update engineering drawings and technical documentation (SoilidWorks and AutoCAD)
Develop, oversee, and track preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
Perform regular quality inspections on products and processes to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
Administer and update the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, including managing audits, documentation, and renewals.
Ensure all company work procedures, SOPs, and safety programs are followed and maintained.
Lead internal quality audits and assist in external certification audits.
Train staff on quality and maintenance standards and ensure understanding across departments.
Recommend process improvements based on audit results, quality findings, and maintenance needs.
Support incident investigations and root cause analysis for non-conformance events.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree (preferred) in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role combining engineering support, maintenance, and quality management.
Practical knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS requirements.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices and systems.
Ability to read, interpret, and update technical drawings.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Certification in Quality Management (CQA, CQE) or maintenance-related certifications (CMRP) is an asset.
