The salary range for this position is:

Recruitment range: $63,941- $70,492 starting salary determined by the PEA

Performance range: starting salary to max of $83,138 is available through annual performance increases.

Job Summary

The faculty houses the University\'s Bachelor of Science programs in Computer Science and the accredited Bachelor of Software Engineering and Bachelor of Engineering programs, which include Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Software Engineering.

The Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduate Administrative Officer works with staff and faculty throughout the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science to support the undergraduate programming. The position manages the administrative, curricular, scheduling, student orientation, scholarships and equity, diversity and inclusion areas in the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science.

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs, this position manages the Faculty\'s:
  • Graduate and Undergraduate curriculum change cycles, including procedural and systems change-management.
  • Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity (EDI) and internationalization initiatives for graduate students, undergraduate students, faculty and staff. This includes significant quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, confidential issues management and motivational management for change.
  • Scholarships Committee and all associated awards and prizes. The incumbent is frequently required to create or collect data and oversee scholarship or awards applications on behalf of members of the Faculty\'s community.
  • Events Planning, including annual events such as recruiting, orientation at the start of the Fall and Spring terms, program information sessions, and Faculty tours. This requires recruiting and management of personnel, venues, contractors, and creating communications strategies and itineraries.
  • Scheduling, academic timetabling and registration for non-departmental courses
  • Hiring of and support for non-departmental instructors, teaching assistants and staff.
In addition, the position is frequently required to create ad hoc reports and provides support for regular accreditation documents and visitation events and manages the operating budget of the Engineering Undergraduate Office. Also, the position is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating practices, standards, student support, and contributing to services to support conditions for student success for a fast-growing population of students, and providing key support to the Dean and Associate Deans.

Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required (normally compensated by time off).

Job Requirements

This position requires an undergraduate degree in an appropriate field plus a minimum of 5 years related data analysis and administrative experience in an educational environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Event management experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational, writing and communications skills.
  • Proficiency using computers and office software.
  • Experience interpreting administrative procedures at post-secondary institutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
