- Day-to-day strategic advice on a variety of labour and employment matters including discipline, terminations, application of several different pieces of legislation, human rights matters, labour arbitrations employment contracts.
- Providing client advice, develop appropriate labour relations and litigation strategies, and preparing written and oral arguments.
- Drafting and providing legal advice in relation to negotiating settlement and/or severance agreements.
- Drafting and negotiating employment policies and contracts.
- Four + years of relevant work experience;
- Demonstrated excellent advocacy, conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication skills;
- Strong research and writing skills and demonstrated ability to navigate complex issues;
- Proven effective client and practice management skills;
- Self-motivated and can work independently but also values working collaboratively; and
- Experience independently handling arbitrations considered an asset.
