Job Summary:
The Employment Coach will support the Employment Coaching program, offering one-on-one support to individuals on the autism spectrum to successfully navigate the workplace. This part-time position requires local travel and may involve frequent evening and weekend work. The Employment Coach will work closely with both participants and employers to ensure individuals build the skills and confidence needed to meet job expectations and integrate into workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employment Coaching & Support
Provide one-to-one in-person and virtual employment coaching.
Work alongside participants to identify their support needs and implement individualized accommodations, with guidance from the Program Educator or Program Educator - EC Team Lead.
Support clients towards independence in the workplace by gradually fading support and fostering self-reliance.
Employer & Community Support
Empower clients to build professional relationships with employers, promoting self-advocacy and successful employment outcomes.
Offer information on Autism and employment support to employers and coworkers as directed by clients.
Collaboration & Reporting
Monitor and document employee progress using shift reports, scoring rubrics, and other relevant documents.
Maintain regular communication with Program Educator or Program Educator - EC Team Lead to ensure seamless program delivery and consistent support.
Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay informed on the latest best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
1+ years working with adults and individuals on the autism spectrum.
Must have access to a reliable internet connection and a laptop to perform job duties effectively.
Knowledge or experience with person-directed planning is an asset.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Certifications/Training
CPR-C and First Aid certification (updated yearly).
Maintain NVCI training.
Clear criminal record and child abuse registry checks
Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and reliable vehicle required
Comfortable driving in all conditions and distances
Working Conditions
Community-based and remote work required.
Availability for frequent evening or weekend hours for program delivery.
Local travel required for program delivery and community engagement.
Must be able to work in diverse environments, including client workplaces.
