The Employee Engagement Coordinator, will play a key role in supporting short-term engagement initiatives, including seasonal events, employee recognition efforts, and EDI-focused activities. The Employee Engagement Coordinator will also contribute to administrative support for special projects and help prepare materials that enhance future engagement efforts.

What You Will Do




Supporting Short-Term Employee Engagement Activities:

+ Assist in planning and executing specific, time-limited engagement initiatives, such as seasonal or summer events and activities.
+ Provide logistical support to social committees by preparing event materials, tracking RSVPs, and ensuring the smooth delivery of planned events during the summer months.
+ Help compile and organize employee feedback for ongoing engagement projects, ensuring timely input for future planning.

Advancing Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Efforts:

+ Support short-term EDI-focused events such as summer Pride initiatives, Indigenous cultural observances, or local cultural celebrations.
+ Help with scheduling and preparation for cultural advisory meetings, including creating agendas and documenting discussions to support ongoing initiatives.
+ Contribute ideas for inclusive summer activities that reflect employee diversity and align with organizational priorities.

Facilitating Seasonal Employee Recognition Efforts:

+ Assist in recognizing employees for summer achievements, milestones, and other key events during the 3-4 month term.
+ Help prepare materials and communication for summer-specific recognition efforts, such as celebrations for work anniversaries or seasonal appreciation events.

Mission Ambassador Program Support (Short-Term Contributions):

+ Provide temporary administrative assistance for Mission Ambassador onboarding or training scheduled during the summer period.
+ Help coordinate communications and track progress of Mission Ambassadors involved in summer activities or placements.
+ Focus on preparing or enhancing materials for use in the upcoming year's program.

Focused Administrative and Event Coordination Support:

+ Work on specific short-term projects, such as preparing reports or helping with one-time events, ensuring that all deliverables are completed within the limited timeframe.
+ Develop project coordination skills by assisting with event logistics, creating checklists, and tracking task completion for summer-specific programs.

Data and Feedback Support:

+ Assist in collecting and summarizing data from engagement activities and events held during the summer period to inform the evaluation of these initiatives.
+ Help prepare short-term reports or presentations on the effectiveness of summer engagement activities.

What We Are Looking For




Enthusiastic attitude: excited to work with other people and teams. Flexibility: able to work at different times, including days, evenings, and weekends. We will help coach on these workplace skills: + Communication: clear and effective interacting with team members and customers to create a positive workplace.
+ Problem solving: finding solutions to problems, being accurate, and using simple math i.e. counting, adding and subtraction.
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. Between 15-30 years of age at the start of employment. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in any related program (in-progress or completed). Capable of managing multiple short-term projects and meeting tight deadlines during the summer period. Ability to manage logistics, schedules, and materials for events.
