Activities Coordinator (Unionville Community Centre for Seniors)

Location: 4300 Hwy 7, Unionville

Schedule: Temporary, Full-Time (Canada Summer Job, 8 weeks)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm, as needed

Pay Rate: $19

Start Date: ASAP

POSITION SUMMARY:



Reporting to the Unionville Community Centre for Seniors' Program Coordinator, the Unionville Community Centre for Seniors' Activities Coordinator will support the development and safe delivery of creative, innovative and meaningful recreation programs based on the dimensions of wellness and the diverse needs of our senior's community.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:



Volunteer or work experience in community programs/fundraising or event planning Strong organization, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent time management skills with the ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple tasks Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word Proficiency in Design software (eg. Canva) would be an asset Confident using Zoom and other online communication platforms for program facilitation Comfortable using Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter for business purposes Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:



Assist with the development and implementation of programs and services that meet the needs of a diverse population and incorporates the dimensions of wellness (social, physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual) Assist with the planning of the monthly calendar of programs/activities for UCCS Work with team members and volunteers to foster a cohesive, collaborative approach to running successful recreational programs Demonstrate excellent customer service and engagement with all stakeholders (clients, partners, staff, volunteers) Assist with the development and preparation of communication tools (e.g., newsletters, posters, notices, calendars, etc.) designed to provide clients, community and seniors in the surrounding area, with information regarding current and future activities and special events Monitor and document client participation in activities and report any changes in activity levels to supervisor
