HIS220Y1Y, The Shape of Medieval Society

Political, religious, and educational ideas and institutions of the Middle Ages from the late Roman period to the fifteenth century, with a focus on primary sources to listen to as many medieval voices as possible.

Qualifications

Minimum M.A. in History required; good knowledge of the subject matter required. Previous experience or training with Quercus is an asset.

Duties

Teaching tutorial groups; grading assignments and exams; consulting with supervisors/students; invigilating final exams

Duties of this position shall be performed at the campus on which the position is located.

Estimated Course Enrolment: 60 students

Estimated hours per position: 250 hours

Schedule: Lectures Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00-12:00 In-person lectures

Tutorials: Tuesday 12:00-13:00, 13:00-14:00; Thursday 12:00-13:00, 13:0014:00

Applicants should be available for multiple timeslots as it is unknown at this time which tutorials will be assigned.

The delivery method for this course is currently in-person lectures and tutorials. Please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery method may change as determined by the Faculty or Department.

Dates of Appointment: September 1, 2022 - April 30, 2023

Rate of Pay:

$46.92 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
