We are looking for an Emergency Services & Security Specialist to ensure enforcement of site standards and regulations, protection of assets and emergency response and medical aid services while promoting and facilitating a systematic approach to emergency-based management.

Reporting to the Superintendent, you will:
Provide effective leadership by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, coaching, and establishing an effective team process.
Provide security and emergency response services such as fire, ambulance, and rescue, as well as the enforcement of site safety standards and regulations (i.e. traffic rules, site access).
Ensure Emergency Management resources (People, Equipment, Policies, Procedures, Standards and Plans etc.) meet the needs of the business based on Emergency Risk Management principles, legislative requirements and moral obligations.
Ensure Emergency Response Team \'basic\' and \'skills maintenance training\' is carried out according to plan and meets any specific local requirements.
Act as company liaison between site team and community based emergency response teams.
Maintain the Emergency Services & Security Department\'s policies, procedures, standards and plans.
Deliver projects on time according to the Health & Safety emergency management business improvement plan
Be able to lead risk assessments on Rescue Plans, and emergency plans and be an active member in the BRRP Program.
What you\'ll bring
Experience with Fire Fighting (preference given to NFPA 1001 certification)
Valid Emergency Medical Responder Certification (Preference given to Primary Care Paramedic)

The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) is a leading Canadian producer of iron ore concentrate and iron ore pellets that serves customers worldwide. The company operates a mine, a concentrator and a pelletizing plant in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as port facilities in Sept-\xc3\x8eles, Quebec. It also operates a 418 kilometer railroad that links the mine to the port.
