We are seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team to reshape the future of the bitcoin industry. You will be exposed to the end-to-end technology chain that we are creating from the high-performance ASIC with the latest silicon fab technologies to full system hardware and software. You will help us integrate and validate Block\xe2\x80\x99s bitcoin mining products to support our mining customers. You will have experience in field application engineering support for High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, with a focus on software development, system integration and test. You will collaborate with our customers in designing, integrating, and debugging mining rigs using Block\'s Mining Development Kit (MDK) and Block\xe2\x80\x99s high-performance mining ASIC products. This will include working with customers on system requirements definition, providing technical and domain expertise to co-create and help them solve their toughest challenges. These challenges also include helping with system design, component selection, schematic design, and embedded firmware support. You will also need to work with the design team to develop a plan to validate software and system characterization of the designs and products. You will have the opportunity to develop interesting and thoughtful ideas into system prototypes around bitcoin mining operations.
You Will
Provide hands-on engineering support for industrial mining customers, including on-site debugging and live demonstrations of Block\'s latest mining products
Resolve software issues related to mining rigs
Support both new and existing mining products, with a focus on software development
Collaborate with customers on system requirements definition and component integration
This is a hybrid role with approximately 70% remote and 30% in office.
Qualifications
You Have
5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
Experience using Python in automated testing, build systems, or device firmware communication
Proficiency in embedded programming languages like C, C++ or Rust,
Experience with embedded systems, knowledge of operating systems, familiarity with software development tools, understanding of hardware-software interfaces
Experience with application development on Linux or Unix

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A: USD $167,300 - USD $204,500
Zone B: USD $158,900 - USD $194,300
Zone C: USD $150,600 - USD $184,000
Zone D: USD $142,200 - USD $173,800
