Teledyne is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Engineer with expertise in machine vision technologies. As an Application Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing technical support and solutions to our customers by leveraging your deep understanding of machine vision applications and technologies, more specifically for 3D vision applications. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with our sales and engineering teams to deliver cutting-edge machine vision solutions to our clients. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient vision solutions using Teledyne products and technologies, more specifically for 3D measurements: Design, develop, and implement machine vision applications based on customer requirements. This includes hardware selection, software components configuration, developing algorithms, and integrating various imaging subsystems.
  • Provide technical expertise and support: Serve as a subject matter expert on machine vision technologies and applications. Offer technical support and guidance to customers, regional sales offices, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. Assist with presale activities such as product demonstrations and technical consultations. Perform in-depth product evaluations for customer-specific requirements. Participate to trade shows and conferences throughout the world.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with sales, engineering, and product management teams to understand customer needs and translate them into efficient vision solutions using Teledyne technologies. Collaborate on product development and improvement initiatives by providing valuable feedback and insights about customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs.
  • Conduct training and documentation: Conduct training sessions for customers and internal product support teams to ensure proper usage and understanding of our vision products and solutions. Create technical documentation, application notes, and troubleshooting guides to assist customers.
  • Perform system integration and testing: Install and integrate vision systems into customer environments based on the requirements. Conduct thorough testing and validation to ensure optimal performance and adherence to specifications. Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the integration process.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends: Continuously research and evaluate emerging machine vision technologies, tools, and techniques. Stay informed about worldwide market trends in imaging technology, competitor offerings, and advancements in the field. Apply this knowledge to enhance our product offerings and increase our competitive edge.
Qualifications:

Education and experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of proven experience working in machine vision applications, preferably in an engineering, technical support or technical customer-facing role.
Technical skills:
  • Proficiency in image processing and computer vision algorithms.
  • Superior knowledge of 3D imaging and deployment of laser profilers.
  • Some familiarity with machine learning techniques for vision applications.
  • Programming skills in languages such as Python and C/C++.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
Knowledge and abilities:
  • Deep understanding of machine vision systems, cameras, optics, and lighting.
  • Ability to analyze customer requirements and propose suitable machine vision solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Good interpersonal skills; effectiveness in managing customer\xe2\x80\x99s expectations from a technical and business standpoint.
Travel:
  • Travel may be required for customer visits, technical seminars or conferences.
