We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for young students, utilizing innovative teaching methods to engage and inspire not only in the classroom but in our forest and garden areas. This role requires an individual who is not only knowledgeable in core subjects such as Math and English but also possesses the ability to connect with children while observing and monitoring dailey interactions. You will be part of a 3 teacher team, 1 of 2 teachers teaching grades 1-3 in a mixed class in our School House where we strive for no more then a 1/12 student/ teacher ratio.
35 hours is the expected per week however we are open to creative scheduling and working together to enrich the employees home life and the school houses requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
Educate students in foundational subjects, including Math, English, and other core areas.
Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
Utilize effective time management skills to balance instructional time with student needs.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as necessary.
Regularly send with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.
Organize classroom activities that promote social, emotional, and academic growth.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
Requirements
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree Education; or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education although years of experience teaching these grade levels with or without these is considered an asset.
Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Proficiency in Math and English subject areas.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding towards students' diverse needs.
Familiarity with tutoring techniques to assist struggling learners effectively.
Commitment to creating an inclusive environment for all students.
