Are you an Electronics Technologist that is looking to be a member of a hardware design team developing innovative avionics network communications systems?

The successful candidate will work with our Hardware, Systems and Operations teams as they design, document, implement and test our next generation of E1553 products. They will enable our proprietary OFDM-based modem technology to increase the communication speeds of aircraft networks by orders of magnitude. Responsibilities include testing, diagnosis and troubleshooting of electronics assemblies, as well as creation of manufacturing drawings. The candidate will work with the Hardware Lead and other technical team members as a key member of the product development team.
What you will do
Prototyping to assist in the design of circuit boards to meet electrical and form-facto requirements
Assist design engineers in various areas such as component selection, drawings, interfacing with suppliers, and test fixture builds.
Perform post-manufacturing testing of CCA's and assemblies
Documentation such as test procedures and specifications
What you need
Experience in an engineering environment (generation of drawings, assembly, test, wiring, etc.)
Ability to read and generate diagrams, and engineering instructions for assembling electronic units
Experience with schematic design (Orcad preferred)
Experience in the design of test fixtures
5+ years of experience in an engineering or R&D role
Electronics Technology diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated "finisher" and "self-starter" with common sense and the ability to be creative, persistent and stay with a problem until it is resolved
Strong English communication and writing skills are essential
Able to meet requirements of controlled-goods certification (Minimum 5 years of Canadian residency)
What would be an asset
Experience in the manufacturing and/or design of military and COTS designs
Knowledge of military design standards and documentation
Experience in simple 2D/3D modeling (for manufacturing drawing generation)
Testing and/or development experience in the following technologies: DDR4, PCIe, SPI & I2C
Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553C protocol
Able to successfully complete a security clearance background check to the level of Secret (may require 10 years Canadian residency)
