Electrical/powerline Drafting Technician

Job Description

Brightline Engineering has a new Electrical/Powerline Drafting Technician

opportunity with opportunities to travel to the United States. The

Electrical/Powerline Drafting Technician will assist technical teams of detailers,

designers and engineers to create world class detail and compliance on a variety

of electrical and powerline projects. This position will assist in developing

computer-aided drafting design solutions and electrical and powerline compliance.

Education and Experience:

(Combination of education, training, and experience

will be considered) High school diploma or equivalent and a 2 year college diploma

in the electrical or powerline fields. Minimum of one year of experience on

electrical transmission or distribution, or related industry, including substations.

Main Duties:



Assist with preparing and reviewing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts.
Assist with preparing and revising plot drawings.
Responsible for adhering to company and client drafting standards and procedures.
Responsible for adhering to the drafting practices of selected discipline.
Assisting with reviewing existing electrical infrastructure to ensure it meets design and compliance requirements.
Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
Assist with tasks utilizing standard drafting detail programs.
Assist in continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
Research solutions to project concerns and recommend solutions to design problems.
Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.

Pay:

Pay will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. Overtime and

emergency call-outs required.

Citizenship Requirement:

Employee must have either Canadian or US citizenship

for work visa requirements and be able to enter the United States.

Job Type:

Full-time

Willingness to travel:

Employee will be required to travel to the United States for

2-3 week shifts. Travel, accommodations and food will be covered.
