We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical systems, with a focus on low voltage applications. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to maintain, detect, and troubleshoot electrical issues in various settings. The Electrical Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and systems.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, and maintain
Security Camera Systems
(IP and analog), including DVRs/NVRs, network integration, and video management software.
Install and program
Security Alarm Systems
( DSC, Honeywell, etc.)
Set up, integrate, and maintain
Access Control Systems
, including card/fob readers, electronic locks, door hardware, and management software.
Install and troubleshoot
Telephone Entry Systems
and
Intercom Systems
for residential and commercial clients.
Conduct system inspections, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot faults across all installed systems.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installations.
Run and terminate low-voltage cabling for all related systems, ensuring clean and code-compliant installations.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure system functionality meets project and user requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation of service calls, installations, configurations, and inventory.
Provide excellent on-site and remote support to clients, including training end-users on system operation.
Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations in all work performed.
Skills
Proficient in low voltage electrical systems and components
, particularly those used in security and communication systems.
Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining
Security Camera Systems (CCTV), including IP and analog systems.
Skilled in the setup and troubleshooting
of Security Alarm Systems and intrusion detection equipment.
Expertise in Access Control Systems
, including door controllers, badge readers, and credential management.
Familiarity with Telephone Entry and Intercom Systems
, with the ability to diagnose and repair communication faults.
Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical schematics
, especially for integrated security solutions.
Working knowledge of networking principles
related to security systems (e.g., IP configuration, PoE, switches).
Understanding of control systems and automation
, including logic controllers used in access and alarm systems.
Excellent customer service and communication skills
, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues and solutions to clients
Requirements:
Minimum
5 years of hands-on experience
in
security system installation

Minimum
5 years of experience
in
smart home system installation and programming

Strong understanding of
networking, cabling, and device configuration

Experience with common systems and platforms such as

Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software and provide support to clients post-installation.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours and travel to job sites across the GTA or Ontario.
