This position requires the Electrical Technician to perform various low and high-voltage electrical maintenance tasks in a food manufacturing plant. The candidate must have good electrical and mechanical knowledge, as well as ample experience with programmable logic controllers. This position is under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSolve PLC and instrumentation problemsResponsible for the care and maintenance of all electrical and electronic shop equipment and toolsResponsible for following ALL Safety Rules and GuidelinesInstall a wide variety of electrical devices and control circuitsInstall conduits and wiringRepair/rebuild/troubleshoot/perform upgrades to electrical equipmentRead logic diagrams and understand PLC principlesPerform preventative maintenance and complete work ordersDemonstrate excellent mechanical & electrical troubleshooting skillsContinuous improvementPerform other assigned tasks as neededInstrument calibration (Flow Reader, PH Probe, Pressure Switch)Required Skills and QualificationsDetail oriented with good verbal and written skillsRequires lifting, standing, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, working at heights, bending, kneeling and working with toolsDemonstrate the necessary skill sets to perform the above listed dutiesPLC troubleshooting capability (Allen Bradley, PLC-5, SCL-500, Control Logix),operator interface (Allen-Bradley RSView32, FactoryTalk View)Extensive knowledge of electrical and electronic equipmentKnowledge of variable frequency drives/instrumentation and calibrationGood knowledge of computersGood troubleshooting and problem solving abilitiesGood communication and interpersonal skillsSafety-drivenKnowledge and experience in PLC programmingEducation or Work ExperienceHave experience in an industrial environment, ideally in instrumentationHold a non-construction electrician qualification (License C) or be in the process of obtaining itHold a college diploma (DEC) in Industrial Electronics Technology or Instrumentation and ControlAdditional InformationFollow ADM\'s health and safety standardsUnderstands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirementsMust be willing to respond to troubleshooting calls after hours 1 week out of 3, and to visit the facility when necessaryThis position is unionized.All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.Relocation support is not available for this position.If you love the challenge of this dynamic career, then ADM will support and encourage your professional development and success.
