Our Team:

Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. Sudbury is also home to several administrative sites serving both the Ontario Operations as well as all our North Atlantic Operations.

The Garson Mine Supervisory Team is integral to the success of the operation in becoming a safe, predictable, and reliable producer. Come and join Team Garson!

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Electrical Supervisor to join our Garson Mine team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

The job holder will continuously improve the work team performance through effective use of established processes and procedures in achieving assigned objectives. Improve the effectiveness of the front-line team while meeting the business objectives. This includes ensuring the completion of assigned work with consistency and accuracy. Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Hold team accountable for safety, behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism
  • Supervise and coordinate the maintenance work
  • Ensure planned work orders are closed with completion codes and comments for future analysis
  • Carryout tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designate to achieve the desired results within an agreed upon timeline and end state
  • Work within budget, guidelines and standards to execute Safety and Execution Plans as established by the Superintendent or his/her designate
  • Foster a climate of safety, mutual trust, and respect among all members of his/her team
  • Work collectively with peers and cross functionally with colleagues in engineering, geology, maintenance, and services to achieve the objectives of the mine

About You

Education:
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical/Electrical Engineering
Experience:
  • Licensed red seal construction and maintenance or industrial C or Q, or a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Skills:
  • Common Core: Generic Supervisor Common Core (770141) is preferred.
  • Must have strong organization and leadership skills
  • High initiative and can self-direct to accomplish goals with minimum supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
