Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control (EIC) Engineers
to support detailed design, integration, and implementation of EIC systems for water, wastewater, and other critical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in electrical systems, SCADA, and instrumentation relevant to municipal utility environments and must be capable of acting as the
Professional of Record
when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed electrical design and documentation for infrastructure and related facilities.
Design and implement SCADA systems, instrumentation, and control logic
Integrate automation and communication systems with existing utility infrastructure.
Prepare electrical protection designs including grounding, fault protection, and backup systems.
Conduct site assessments and perform equipment tag field verification.
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, and control specialists.
Prepare construction-ready drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
Act as
Professional of Record
and ensure EGBC compliance for all regulated engineering activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum
7 years of experience
in EIC engineering within utility or industrial infrastructure projects.
Proven experience in:
SCADA system design and implementation
Electrical distribution for water/wastewater facilities
Instrumentation and process control integration
Registered
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
in British Columbia or eligible for registration.
Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), grounding design, and PLC/HMI systems.
Ability to manage multiple project deliverables and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, or similar design tools.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for SCADA systems.
Familiarity with construction support, commissioning, and as-built documentation.
Experience acting as Professional of Record for large capital projects.
