Job Description


Role mission: As an Electrical Engineer, it is your role to support the Technical Lead, Rocvolt with engineering tasks and assignments. Initial focus will be on BEV Charging solutions as well as Strategic Projects as identified. Specific tasks and responsibilities

  • Review customers’ requirements, prepare project documentation including drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimations.
  • Design and review electrical power system to support EV charging products and/or solutions. Prepare system layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics, BOMs.
  • Perform load/capacity calculation and safety assessment, including but not limited to short circuit analysis, Arc Flash studies; ensure all the safety regulations are followed.
  • Supervise internal and external engineering resources, including EITs, designers and draft persons in preparing design documents. Review and approve (stamp) design drawings.
  • Conduct power quality evaluations, provide solutions and suggestions to ensure the key factors, i.e., Harmonics, EMI, PF, satisfy the local and international regulations.
  • Support service team to identify root causes of the product failures in the field; provide corrective or alternative solutions; prepare preventive suggestions/feedback to the R&D team.
  • Assist on obtaining certifications: CSA, UL, CE, IEC…
  • Occasional field traveling may be required.

Formal knowledge and experience needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related areas.
  • Licensed professional engineer (preferable PEO) who practices in electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experiences. Experiences in the mining industry is a plus.
  • Working experiences with Low Voltage (LV: 120V to 1KV) and medium voltage (MV: 1kV to 35kV) power distribution system and related equipment and regulations.
  • Previous experiences with electric vehicles (EV), EV charging system, mining vehicles (equipment) is preferable.
  • Knowledge of professional tools/software: AutoCAD, ETAP, CREO, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skill in English, both oral and written.
  • Good knowledge and experience in either the mining or the construction industries.
  • Battery Electric Vehicle knowledge will be advantage
