Electrical Designer (eit)
Job Description
We are looking for an electrical designer (EIT), especially recent university graduates who have a passion to pursue a career towards Electrical Professional Engineer in the consulting industry.
Thomas A. Fekete Limited (TAF) is a Greater Toronto Area multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm established in 1978. We have been providing comprehensive and integrated mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services for a wide variety of projects in Ontario and throughout Canada. To date, TAF has successfully delivered over 11,000 projects in retail, restaurant, hospitality, commercial, institutional, residential and health care sectors.
Responsibilities
Perform building electrical system design including but not limit to lighting, power supply and distribution, communications, fire alarm and other low voltage systems. Prepare engineering drawings using AutoCAD or Revit and implement mark-ups from others. Prepare specifications and datasheets for electrical systems. Obtain information on equipment from suppliers. Select equipment with input from Project Engineer. Coordinate with the client, mechanical engineer, architect, interior designers, and other engineering disciplines. Contribute to all aspects of system level design and assist with other general tasks when needed.
Skills & Qualification
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree, working towards P. Eng. from PEO General knowledge of AutoCAD/REVIT Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) products Engineering consulting experience in building electrical systems preferred, but not necessary. Effective written and verbal communication skills with colleagues and clients Attitude of taking independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while remaining dedicated to teamwork. Understanding of design codes and standards is an asset.
