Position Overview
As an
eLearning Video Developer & Graphic Designer
, you will be responsible for creating compelling visual content that enhances our students' learning experience. While your primary focus will be transforming diverse content formats into engaging, animated eLearning videos, you will also produce essential graphical materials, including diagrams, infographics, logos, charts, and educational illustrations.
You will work closely with curriculum developers, subject matter experts, and academic teams to convert traditional educational materials--from Word documents and PowerPoint presentations to recorded lectures and textbooks--into visually compelling content. Your creative expertise will drive both animated storytelling and static visual design that makes complex concepts accessible and engaging for adult learners.

1. Video Production & Animation (Primary Focus):
Transform diverse content formats (documents, presentations, lectures, textbooks) into engaging animated eLearning videos for self-paced learning.
Create a variety of video styles, including animated explainers, motion graphics, character animations, and enhanced talking-head presentations.
Edit and enhance audio content, including voiceover synchronization and sound design.
Create interactive elements and assessments to be integrated with eLearning platforms.
Optimize video content for various devices and learning management systems.
2. Graphic Design & Visual Content Creation:
Design educational graphics, diagrams, infographics, and charts to support course materials
Create logos, branding elements, and visual assets for academic programs
Develop illustrations and visual aids to clarify complex concepts across various subject areas
Design print and digital materials for marketing and educational purposes
Create templates and style guides to ensure visual consistency across programs
3. Collaboration & Project Management:
Collaborate with curriculum developers and subject matter experts to understand content objectives and learning outcomes.
Apply instructional design principles to ensure all visual content optimizes learner engagement and knowledge retention.
Maintain consistent visual branding and quality standards across all video and graphic content.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
Provide creative input on visual storytelling approaches and content structure.
Maintain organized asset libraries and project files for future updates and revisions.
Support quality assurance testing of visual content across different platforms.
Stay current with eLearning trends, animation techniques, and design best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Adobe Creative Cloud Expertise:
Advanced proficiency in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
eLearning Authoring Tools:
Experience with Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
Animation Skills:
Demonstrated expertise in 2D character animation, motion graphics, whiteboard animation, and kinetic typography.
Graphic Design Skills:
Strong foundation in typography, layout design, colour theory, and visual hierarchy.
Video Production:
Proficiency with screen recording software (Camtasia), audio editing, and video optimization.
2-3+ years of experience in educational or corporate video production and graphic design.
Portfolio demonstrating both animated video content and static graphic design work.
Experience transforming text-heavy content into visual formats.
Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
Strong visual communication and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with SCORM standards and LMS integration preferred.
Excellent project management and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with subject matter experts.
Adaptability and openness to feedback and creative direction.
The position reports directly to the Director of Academics and indirectly to the Vice President - Education.

Post-secondary (required).
Experience:
Video production/animation: 2-3 years (preferred); Graphic design: 2+ years (preferred); eLearning content development: 2+ years (preferred).
Salary:
$65,000 - $75,000, compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
