The Institute for the Study of University Pedagogy (ISUP) is the centre for research on teaching and learning at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). Established in 2020, ISUP advances the study of university pedagogy. In collaboration with faculty, staff, and students across UTM, we support the development of students academic skills through courses, consultations, workshops and programs. We also support faculty pedagogy and the scholarship of teaching and learning through programming and one-on-one consultations. These offerings are informed by our commitment to innovative, inclusive, and accessible pedagogy.ISUPs faculty and staff support the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (RGASC); the Teaching & Learning Collaboration; utmONE, utmONE Scholars, and Foundational Skills courses; and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).Within ISUP, the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (RGASC) is a hub for academic skills development on the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. The mandate of the RGASC is to support and promote teaching and learning in a range of contexts across the University of Toronto Mississauga. For students, the RGASC is a resource for developing academic skills through individual appointments and group-based initiatives that help students identify and develop the academic skills they need for success in theirstudies. For instructional staff and faculty, the Centre is a partner in teaching and learning activities. These activities include course and program design, implementation and assessment of a given interventions impact. Faculty and staff appointed to the RGASC have a range of specializations, including academic peer support, academic writing instruction, educational development, English language learning, numeracy, scientific literacy, and supplemental instruction. This diversity of experience and expertise enables the Centre to collaborate productively with partners from across the disciplines and campus, who bring with them a varied and diverse set of teaching and learning objectives.Working with the Director RGASC, and reporting tothe Senior Educational Developer for day-to-day operations, the Educational Developer, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Accessible Pedagogies, will work directly with faculty, librarians, and staff to support and promote the application of universal design for learning (UDL) principles in fostering inclusive pedagogical approaches, and guiding the pedagogical application of learner-centered accessible pedagogies.Your responsibilities will include:
