The Job
The incumbent will report to a Service Manager and will work out of the Barrie branch office. Primary duties include: to improve educational outcomes for children and youth in care, in kinship care arrangements, and in Voluntary Youth Services Agreements; to coordinate educational supports and provide culturally responsive system navigation support for eligible children and youth; to resolve issues that impact eligible children and youth's learning, and strengthen relationships among societies, schools, public school boards, First Nations school authorities, and community partners in order to improve the educational outcomes of eligible children and youth, and maintain accurate and thorough records of activities. This is a Bargaining Unit position with CUPE Local 5319.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Education is preferred. A degree in Social Science from an accredited University, in combination with several years' experience in Child Welfare or from within the Education system will also be considered.

Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong time management skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
A thorough understanding of anti-oppression values and principles is important.
A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle is required.
Bilingualism (English/French) is required, proficiency will be tested.
Compensation:
The salary range is $61,099 to $77,979 commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package, vacation and leave provisions as per our Collective Agreement.
