Education Program Interpreter, job description:
1.
Base Compensation
:
Your hourly rate is to be $17.00 (seventeen dollars) per hour worked, paid every two weeks in arrears. Any overtime incurred for whatever reason will also be paid at a straight hourly rate of $17.00 (seventeen dollars) per hour worked.
2.
Hours of Work
Due to the nature of this work, the hours of work and the number of hours required will be highly variable including some evening and weekend group bookings, senior's groups, youth groups, birthday parties, and assistance with the summer programming. Similarly, because school group volume varies throughout the year TMMF cannot guarantee the same number of work hours every week. Employees will be given as much notice as possible to enable you to schedule your time appropriately. In addition, you will be compensated for a minimum of three hours per day when requested to report to or having been previously scheduled to work, regardless of how much time is actually spent.

Your role and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
3.1.
Interpreter Qualification:
As part of the Foundation's education delivery team, you will be required to be trained, competent and committed to continuous improvement in the
"Five Step Learner Centric Delivery Model". Training in this methodology will be provided at no cost to you. As part of this process, you will be expected to provide feedback to your peers and to embrace the feedback provided by others to you in support of your continuous growth as a TMMF Interpreter.
3.2.
Pre Program:
When assigned to deliver an Education Program, you will arrive in advance of the learning clients, ensure that all of the materials, content, room preparation are done in advance of the learning clients arrival, and in general make any and all preparations necessary to ensure a smooth and professional delivery of the program.
3.3.
Program Delivery:
You will commit to learning the program material (learning objectives etc.) for any and all programs that you are required to teach. You are welcome to ask for assistance at any time and you are welcome to tailor the material to meet the learning objectives in a manner that makes maximum use of your talents, gifts, interests and abilities. Please note this does not forsake the need to use the Five Step
Learner Centric Delivery Model. The Foundation welcomes your input, ideas, creativity and intellect in making the programs we offer ever more compelling, engaging, memorable and educational.

3.4.
Post Program:
Upon the completion of your delivery of an Education Program, you are responsible for restoring the materials and the spaces used to the same or better condition in which you found them. Please note that this is to ensure that the Education
Team can function at a high level with a minimum of unproductive time. The fact that all materials and spaces are shared resources must be respected at all times.
3.5.
Representative
: Over the course of your employment, you will be acting as a representative of The Military Museums and The Military Museums Foundation and as such, you are expected to conduct yourself with the utmost regard for professionalism, inclusivity, respectful behaviour and good conduct. This includes adhering to a professional dress code. This also includes doing everything possible to ensure a safe place for all learning clients and their chaperones while under your care.
3.6.
Client Focus:
As representatives for The Military Museums Foundation, you are also expected to be learning client (or customer) focused to ensure that their experience is excellent to encourage both positive reviews and repeat business.
3.7.
Project Work
: From time to time, the Foundation may apply for and receive grants and donations to further enhance programs of a particular interest to the Government or to the donor. Interpreters may be invited to include as part of their job function, the work necessary to develop new or "clean sheet" educational programs. Please note that any and all such work remains the sole property of the Foundation.
3.8.
Other Duties as Assigned
: From time to time, you may be required to support other duties and functions with The Military Museums including but not limited to:
3.8.1. assisting in daily administrative tasks such as managing booking inquiries and/or other administrative tasks such as social media, marketing and promotional items.
3.8.2. monitoring and managing monthly supply inventories and our artefact inventory.
3.8.3. being invited to participate in our outreach program at various schools,
3.8.4. being invited to represent the Foundation at various Teacher's Conventions and other external events.
3.8.5. assist in presenting on camera for digital programs or develop there of.
3.8.6. creating, developing and delivery of special events. Some of these events will support TMM.
3.8.7. private and corporate tours.
3.8.8. temporary exhibitions and displays throughout the museum.
3.9.
Organizational Culture:
In cooperation and collaboration with all TMMF employees,
Board members, TMM employees, volunteers, partners and other stakeholders, actively endeavor to create and support a positive, collaborative, open and professional work environment for all.
4.
Office Hours:
In order to ensure a high level of trust, transparency and teamwork, regularly scheduled meetings will be held to share lessons learned, experiences, and remain informed about the state and status of both TMM and TMMF. Other than these regularly scheduled meetings and the specific work times that you have been scheduled for, there are no standard office hours.
