Children's Autism Services of Edmonton is seeking an
Early Education Teacher
for our dynamic and growing organization for the 2025/26 school year . At Children's Autism Services of Edmonton, we provide family-centered services within the home, school or community to meet the complex needs of children who have autism and other developmental disorders using the SCERTS Model.
As an
Early Education Teacher,
you will be part of a talented transdisciplinary team providing a pre-kindergarten program through an Emotional Regulation Approach at one of our early education sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and set up an interactive play based classroom program
Develop, implement and monitor classroom activities to meet the needs of individual students
Develop/review Individual Program Plans (IPP) in collaboration with parents/consultants and participate in IPP meetings
Document progress of children (IPP goals) and ensure children's records are maintained
Participate in professional growth opportunities
Work collaboratively on a team of professionals which may include speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, behavior consultants and psychologists
incorporate recommendations and strategies provided by consultants into classroom activities and daily routines and provide feedback on the recommendations
supervise and coach classroom educational assistants
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of education or equivalent and valid teaching certificate with 3+ years of special needs experience
Experience developing and implementing IPPs is an asset
Knowledge of SCERTS framework is an asset
Police Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention Record Check required
Safe Management Training (Provided), CPR and Standard First Aid Certification Required
